Permission of this story has been granted by Jack and his parents.
Jack is a boy, who was brought to our station back in June with an open arm injury. Jack's mother requested us to assess and bandage Jack's arm after he received an injury from a piece of wood at a local playground, or so we thought. We bandage Jack's arm, and provided mom with directions to a local clinic upon her request. A few weeks later, we received a "Thank You" card and a green piggy bank with over $70 within the bank. We also learned that Jack fractured his arm, and required surgical repairs at Children's Hospital, and that upon his discharge, Jack took his piggy bank around his neighborhood and collected donations for Medic One. We attempted to return the money to Jack, but he insisted on buying the crews lunch, which is exactly what we did. On July 25, 2010, Jack came to our station for a visit. See photos below.
Thank you very much Jack !!!!
